Xabier Gamarra de Valdivielso 

 

Born in Pamplona is the third of seven siblings and finished his studies of Pedagogy at San Sebastian University of the Basque Country.

Is his father Angel who teaches him the trade of manufacturing special balls for playing the Pelota Vasca and introduces the Pelota Vasca discipline to all the family when they were kids.

He worked and cooperated with some companies concerning to teach youngsters with social difficulties and homeless persons.

He stablished and revitalized during seven years the school of Pelota Vasca for the gipsy collective in Pamplona.

He founded another school of Jai Alai Cesta Punta in Berriozar (Navarra) which currently has 42 pupils.

Referee in “Remonte”, a type of Pelota Vasca sport, during six years at Pamplona Euskal Jai Pelota court.

He made his debut in 1999  as a Jai Alai player at Manila(Phillippines).

 

“Xabier is a Pelota enthusiastic and probably one of the persons with more knowledge about this sport. Personally he is communicative, entertaining and pleasant becoming a professional “Speaker”specialized in Basque Pelota”

 

Iranzu Arguinzoniz Cebreiro.

 

 

Born in Bilbao is the fourth of six siblings and spent her early childhood in Baztan valley (Navarra) where she first got in touch with “Basque Pelota”.

Then the family moved to Gernika, a village with a big tradition in Jai Alai sport and having one of the best Jai Alai court and famous Jai Alai players.

She studied at Venice High School (Florida USA) near the three existants Jai Alai Courts.It seemed as if promoting “Pelota” and Jai Alai was Iranzu´s purpose.

She completed her University degree in Politics and Sociology at Deusto University and her final project was dedicated to Bilbao and its way of tansformation as a cosmopolitan city.

She took part on a Master about Events and Congresses Organization at Deusto University and obtained the Travel Agency qualification in Madrid.

She worked for the Gernika Peace Museum in the Technical Secretary and

this experience resulted in a vocation to organize events .

Xabier e Iranzu met in 2007 and started organizing local events concerning to Basque Pelota and launched their company Jaialai events in 2009.
